Guest speakers Jean Pierre Perpignani and Alexandra Tissot from Studio23 spoke on studio photography and how to set up lightings for portrait shots by using basic and afforable lighting equipment obtainable from DIY stores (for keylight and backlight), styrofoam reflectors (for fill-in light) and gray cards (for exposure and white balance).
“Colors of Spring” photo contest winners were announced. Special thanks to Jean- Pierre Perpignani and Alexandra Tissot for judging.
The next photo contest theme “Motion” was announced.
Upcoming activities were highlighted – Photo outing during the Geneva Marathon on 6th May and a general assembly to change the club status on 4th May.

Guest speaker Luc Buscarlet from Société Genevoise de Photographie (SGP) presented “La photo numérique, un outil fantastique pour les photographes“.
- Advantages of digital photography over traditional film photography.
- Introduction to DXO Optics Pro, a powerful post processing software for RAW and jpeg formats e.g. white balance, automatic lens correction (based on the camera body and lens used), black & white conversion, various colored filtering, saturation improvement.
- Some useful techniques in Photoshop e.g. cloning to eliminate unwanted objects, red eye reduction, improvement of overall tone by using gradient masks.
“All About Cars” photo contest best 3 finalists were announced and the grand prize winner was voted by members.
The next photo contest theme “Colors of Spring” was announced.
Upcoming activities were highlighted – Advanced photography course, photo outing during the Geneva Marathon and a general assembly to change the club status.

The photo club website was officially launched.
“Warmth of Winter” photo contest results were announced and prizes were given to our 3 lucky winners.
Members presented their carnival/event pictures and shared their photo techniques.
The next photo contest theme “All About Cars” was announced.
Workshop on still life and macro photography was conducted.
